Located on the west side of Calcasieu Parish, you will discover the perfect way to escape the Louisiana summer heat! There is something for everyone, whether you are interested in speeding down an adrenaline-pumping waterslide, drifting along a peaceful lazy river in an inner tube, or entertaining the kids at Parrot Island!  SPAR is a special tax district providing recreation opportunities to the residents of Ward 4 Recreation Dist. 2 of Calcasieu Parish. Funded primarily by local property taxes, SPAR maintains over 550 acres of parks and multiple recreation facilities.
